If you do have tattoo experience, depending on the range of skill, there will be a discounted class price which can be discussed with Monica. The payment you make for this class, will buy your starter supplies which include the machine, needles, inks, and other miscellaneous items we use in everyday tattooing. Your Mentors: Monica and John Barnes
Monica began her tattoo journey in the 80's and hasn't stopped since. She opened up a small shop in the heart of Downingtown and when her business started to grow exponentially, she moved up to M&M's current location in 1998. Not only was Monica in the design tattoo business but she also learned how to do cosmetic and medical tattooing and still practices at her daughter's office, Sauler Institute of Tattooing. Since Monica no longer tattoos at her shop, she has taken it upon herself to teach many others to become tattoo artists. Most finishing their apprenticeship and then working at M&M. Monica now has a full shop but continues to want to teach which is how The Tatt Room was born. The school will allow her to continue her passion of tattooing by teaching the trade to others.
One day, John decided to get a tattoo and he ended up in Monica's shop. He came back time after time and eventually the two of them became good friends. Over time, the two got closer and closer and decided they were best together. John jumped in headfirst into the world of tattooing with Monica as his Mentor. During John's time tattooing he was the king of flash and tribal. The unlikely pair took the industry by storm, winning awards and being well known all around. Since then, the two of them have successfully ran M&M and teach artists to tattoo whenever they get the chance.
